Harry Potter

It comes to this sooner or later. Hollywood gets it's hands on the film rights and then they start pushing out one film after the other. It's way over 5 years since I watched Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, so I thought I'd watch it again, and what a disappointment!

The first book in the series is my favourite and I've read it more than 10 times (seriously, a good book is worth reading more than once) then I watched the movie (which by the way was released the 16th of November 2001 - 9 years, one month and four days ago!) and was surprised at how different I had pictured the movie, since I have read the book so many times.

Hermione doesn't solve the potions puzzle in the end, and the Devil's snare is afraid of fire, not sunlight. Meh... I'll still continue with the second movie, just to see of it's any better. Of all the Harry Potter books, the second book, Harry Potter and the Camber of Secrets, is my least favourite book/movie... might be because Professor Gilderoy Lockhart is my least favourite person, I even prefer Snape or Malfoy in front of him, but Kenneth Branagh does a marvellous job as Lockhart.

Vampires

How I pictured Edward
Honestly, I'm getting pretty tired of all the vampire stuff. Sure, it was cool in the beginning, but so is birthday cake. After you've wolfed down a cake, you don't want to see another cake in several months... It's pretty the same with vampires. First the Twilight, which is the big cannons here, and then the True Blood series, and then the Interview with a Vampire or a Vampire's diary (to be honest I'm not that informed on the subjects, I'm not even sure they exist) But Haryy Potter was something different, it was a whole community in 7 books... these Vampires are a whole plague spreading across the Earth in as many different forms as you can think of (exploding and glittering being the biggest opposites).

Not how I pictured Edward
One thing the Vampires and Harry Potter has in common is Robert Pattinson. Or I should really write Twilight and Harry Potter, but Twilight is sort of the flagship for the whole bloodsucking party.

To be frank I don't like Pattinson as Edward. Edward is supposed to be handsome. Pattinson may be good looking to some, but to me he's just plain. Don't get me wrong, he's a pretty okay actor, but I pictured Edward somewhat more exotic.
I like how they put it in Dear Hollywood Twilight; you killed my dream (from where I got the How I pictured Edward picture) I feel slightly the same way.

(I don't own either of the pictures)
